Louise Carver signed to her first record label in South Africa at the tender age of 15, released her first single at 17, and followed it up with an album at 18. The classically trained pianist, who has had extensive vocal training since age six, has been writing songs on the piano since the age of eleven. This compelling singer performed live for the very first time in Klerksdorp at the Rio Casino on 12 April and she had the audience in the palm of her hand as she sang her catchy numbers, while pulling on the heartstrings of everyone present. Louise has a real stage presence, singing from the heart, while throwing back shooters and chatting with the audience. Her first single, 'It Don't Matter' was released at the end of 1996 and reached the Number One position on the national Campus Charts and after eleven weeks on the 5FM Top 40, it reached third position. Louise has coined the phrase “organic rock” to describe her latest music, and the honesty of her voice and lyrics and the timeless beauty of her melodies has her fans enraptured. Louise released her single 'Words don't mean a thing' in 2002, which she wrote, sang, arranged and co-produced. It was instantly picked up by all major radio stations and has proved popular ever since, as has Louise herself. She hinted at a return to Klerksdorp, with a special rendition of Bok van Blerks' famous hit, De La Rey, so if you missed out, be sure to catch her next time. Visit our website for more photos.
