SNSET Institute SciETech Park Opening

On 26 March SNSET Institute had their grand opening of SNSET Institute SciETech Park.

This will be the official headoffice for this science, engineering and technology institute.
An Internet Café was also established here where the staff would assist the community on how to browse the internet and help them with basic computer skills. A computer for young upcoming business people is also available if they want to send emails or type business letters.
Yourcity would like to congratulate the SNSET Institute on another successful venture.

The community appreciates young people who are willing to embrace the future.

Battle of the Giants at Sun City

The 20th Battle of the Giants Freestyle Championships and All Styles Dancesport Festival was held this past week at Sun City Superbowl in the first of the World Trial Circuit Calendar for 2009. David Matamela who recently visited Klerksdorp with the Fusing Dance Workshop was one of the adjudicators as well as some other familiar names: Salomé Sechele; Pam Smith and Craig Bullock to name but a few.
This festival provides a platform for dancers to compete in the categories Freestyle, Rock 'n Roll, Hustle, Slowdance, Ballroom & Latin, Hip Hop, Showdance and Jazz.
The dancers are dedicated, their teachers are motivated and the end result is everyone's a winner. Le Danze and Mildreds Dance School from our region were there to make sure that the North West stays up to date with the current dance competitions.

"Ons tradisionele kultuur is nog springlewendig" gaan KKNK toe

Die ATKV Centurion se baie suksesvolle tradisionele kultuurprogram wat laasweek by die Voortekkermonument in Pretoria aangebied is, word vanaf Saterdag 4 April elke middag gedeeltelik op SABC2 se Garobverhoog by die KKNK herhaal.

Daar gaan tradisionele musiek met o.a. 'n saag, 'n trekklavier, en 'n traporrel gemaak word.
Daar gaan volkspele- en boeredansvertonings wees asook die bekendstelling van 'n unieke liedjieskryfkompetisie waarin daar nuwe lirieke vir 'n voorgeskrewe boeremusiek- en volkspele-melodie geskryf kan word.

Sondag 5 April word daar tussen 11:00 en 12:00 'n Christenmusiekprogram aangebied en die aand tussen 6 en 7nm sluit Innes Benade en sy gesin ook by ons span aan.
