BRANCO SPORTS PRODUCTION GIVE BACK TO NORTH WEST

The boxing consortium of Branco Milenkovic and Jacob Matlala received a huge financial boost when it staged Mzonke Fana's defence of the IBF junior lightweight belt against Javier Osvaldo Alvarez in Klerksdorp in 2007, as well as when Fana surrendered that world belt to Cassius Baloyi in Mafikeng in April last year.

Now Milenkovic and Matlala will plough back to the communities there .
The pint-sized Matlala, a former four-time world champion, will do road shows at local schools in Matlosana today to emphasise the benefits of clean living, while BSP will stage a 20-bout amateur tournament there tomorrow.
The idea is to bring amateur clubs in Matlosana together for a donation of boxing equipment valued at around R30000 from Milenkovic.
"After receiving support from the North West province we feel obliged to inject something back to the province and for the development of sport,"
Milenkovic said.
"We did something similar to this in January in the Eastern Cape when we sponsored the ANC's manifesto.
"That was not done for political reasons but simply because the Eastern Cape government also supported us when we staged a double-header at Jan Smuts Stadium last year."
BSP's thanksgiving also coincides with its six-bout professional programme at Matlosana hall tomorrow night . Topping the bill will be SA welterweight c champion Chris van Heerden first title defence - against Welcome Ntshingila - over 12 rounds.
This match will be shown live on Blow by Blow at 9.30pm.

Female boxers Sandra Almeida and Rita Mrwebi will slug it out in the junior middleweight division over four rounds. Action will start at 7.30pm.
