Weekend Darkness...
In order to install new high voltage switchgear in the
Doringkruin main substation, an interruption in Council's supply
of electrical current will take place as follows:
Saturday, 9 May from 06h00 until 18h00 on Sunday 10 May.
The second interruption will occur from 06h00 on Saturday, 16
May until 18h00 on Sunday, 17 May.
The suburbs that will be affected include Doringkruin, Flamwood,
Wilkoppies, Adamayview, Irenepark, La hoff, Flimieda, Wilkeville
and agricultural holdings on the right hand side of Ventersdorp
road in the direction from Klerksdorp to Ventersdorp.
The good news is that Wilmedpark hospital, Anncron and
Sunningdale clinic will not be affected by the interruptions.
Standby facilities will however, be kept ready in case of
unforeseen difficulties.
Food outlets like Pick 'n Pay, Hypermarket, Flimieda Spar, MCC
Spar, Food Zone and Flamwood walk will also not experience the
interruptions.
The City Council's electrical engineering department is not
giving the guarantee that the current will remain off for the
specified time and residents are warned that all electric
equipments and machinery must be considered as live for that
period.
