ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL ROTARY PROJECT GOES TO THE PEOPLE OF
KELRKSDORP/MATLOSANA
President Alma Piek of The Rotary Club of Klerksdorp visited the
new clinic in Kanana and launched the dehydration spoon which is
piloted by District 9230.
One of the most common causes of child mortality is
unfortunately a common condition, dehydration. One of District
9320 ‘s pilot projects is to bring this astounding figure down
by distributing a simple but effective spoon and recipe which
will assist mothers and child minors to quickly make up a
solution and get it to sick children who are showing signs of
dehydration. Often other illnesses result in dehydration and can
easily be avoided with instant medical care. Unfortunately large
portion of our population don’t have access to medical
assistance and the child becomes dehydrated resulting in death
on too many occasions. The spoon comes with simple instruction
on how to make the solution so that it can be administered to
the child immediately. Continue on Page 3
